Today plexupdate gained the capability to check if it’s running the latest code by simply comparing itself to what’s posted on github. Any descrepancy and it will print out a notice so the user is aware.
This also marks the end of users editing the script to change settings. Doing so will break this functionality since it will always believe that the script is out of date (due to the difference).
But you should be using command line or .plexupdate
file anyway by now, so hopefully you’ll find this worth it. And if not, you can always disable it by setting CHECKUPDATE=no
